WELLINGORE WI
Welcome to the Wellingore WI website. The WI in Wellingore was formed in 1932, just 17 years after the formation of the organisation in Angelsey. The ideals of the WI are based on tolerance, friendship, truth and justice. The organisation is non-sectarian and non-political. Many of the resolutions put forward by the WI have become mainstays of our society, such as 'Keep Britain Tidy' and more recently the call for more Midwives. But, apart from being a formidable group of women we never fail to have fun and to support our local community. Yes we drink tea (and wine) and some of us bake cakes, but we are definitely much more than just 'Jam and Jersualem'
The WI
Inspiring women since 1915
Wellingore WI is a sociable group of ladies, who get together on the third Wednesday of each month. Meetings are very informal and often include a speaker or demonstration, and always time to chat.
We play an active part in the social life of our community, so there is plenty of opportunity to meet people and get involved if you want to do so. The WI is for ALL women - what ever their age or interests. Whether you simply want to come along for a sociable night out with like minded people, or be actively involved and take advantage of all the opportunites this national organisation can offer, we'd love to see you
